Headgear straps are too tight | Adjust straps evenly. The forehead support "anchors" your mask and should sit firmly on your forehead. To achieve a comfortable fit using the AirFit™ P10, adjust the split-straps by spreading them apart to loosen, or draw them closer together to tighten. |
Fit is too tight (Little/no room to adjust) | Headgear may be too small. Additional headgear sizes are available to order separately. If the mask includes a MicroFit dial, wind out the dial to position 24, where the forehead support is fully extended. Adjust in small increments until you achieve a comfortable fit that is not too tight. |
Headgear is touching the top of the ears | Remove and refit your mask according to the instructions in the mask fitting guide. The headgear should sit at the crown of the head. Check that the top and bottom headgear straps are correctly positioned. Ensure that the Velcro tab is correctly aligned with the headgear material and not cutting into the top of the ear. |
Cushion is riding up the face during use | Check headgear positioning against instructions in the mask fitting guide. The headgear should sit on the crown of the head and not too far back. Headgear may be the wrong size. Additional headgear sizes are available to order separately. |
Mask could be the wrong size | It is important to note that sizing across different masks is not always the same. The Quattro™ FX cushion is designed to sit mid-bridge (vs top-bridge like a conventional FFM). Talk to your clinician to have your face size checked against the sizing tool/fitting template. |
Spring frame is sitting too close to the eyes (Quattro FX) | This is a good indicator that your mask could be the wrong size. Talk to your clinician to have your face checked against the sizing tool. |

Ports cap or elbow is not inserted correctly | Remove ports cap or elbow from the mask, and reassemble according to the user guide instructions. |
Vent is blocked or partially blocked | If the vent requires cleaning, use a soft-bristle brush. Allow to air dry out of direct sunlight. |
There is moisture buildup at the vent | Tap the mask to remove all moisture caught in the vent. Turn your humidifier down. Get a ResMed flow generator with Climate Control and ClimateLineAir™ tubing to prevent rainout. Remove the elbow and dry/clean the vents. |
Outer membrane of the mask cushion is torn | Contact your local medical equipment provider to replace your mask cushion. |
Elbow incorrectly inserted | Remove the mask and reassemble it according to the instructions provided in the user guide that came with it. |

|
Cushion membrane is creased or folded | Turn off the CPAP or bilevel device and remove the mask. Refit your mask according to the instructions that came with your mask. Ensure that you position the cushion correctly on your face before pulling the mask down the face during fitting as this may lead to folding or curling of the cushion. |
Cushion incorrectly inserted into the frame | Remove the cushion from the frame and reinsert it starting at the top. Line up the raised section on the cushion with the recess in the top of the frame. Ensure that the alignment markers at the bottom corners of the cushion line up with the indent features on the frame. Ensure that the cushion membrane looks even before refitting. |
Mask could be the wrong size | It is important to note that sizing across different masks is not always the same. If patient has nasal pillows, the inner wall of one/both pillows may be inverted | Squeeze the pillow sides to release the inner wall. |
If patient has nasal pillows, the pillows may not be properly seated in the nostrils | Re-seat the pillows by positioning them just inside the entrance of the nostrils and adjusting them until they feel comfortable and secure. Do not overtighten. |
Pillows are not the right size | Try another pillow size or talk to your medical equipment provider. |
